Abstract

Transformasi pendidikan negara yang sangat dinamik memerlukan tuntutan kesediaan para pengajar untuk menjalankan tugas dengan berkesan. Justeru kajian tinjauan ini bertujuan mengenal pasti tahap kompetensi keusahawanan yang terdapat dalam kalangan pensyarah Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia (IPG) terhadap kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan. Di samping itu, kajian ini juga dijalankan untuk mengukur peranan kompetensi keusahawanan sebagai mediator dalam hubungan antara sikap keusahawanan dalaman dan kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan pensyarah IPG. Kaedah pengumpulan data menggunakan borang soal selidik yang dilaksanakan terhadap 220 orang responden yang terdiri daripada pensyarah IPG Kampus Zon Timur. Data kajian dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian SPSS dan Amos. Keputusan analisis menunjukkan tahap kompetensi keusahawanan yang dikaji dalam kalangan pensyarah IPG adalah sederhana. Manakala analisis Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) menunjukkan bahawa kompetensi keusahawanan memberi kesan yang signifikan dan bertindak sebagai mediator separa (partial mediation) antara sikap keusahawanan dalaman pensyarah IPG dengan kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan dalam kalangan pensyarah IPG. Secara keseluruhannya kajian ini memberikan jawapan alternatif bagaimana kompetensi keusahawanan yang terdapat dalam kalangan pensyarah IPG mampu menentukan kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan dalam kalangan mereka.Kata kunci: Kompetensi keusahawanan, elemen keusahawanan, institut pendidikan guru, IPG The highly dynamic national education transformation demands teachers to be ready to carry out their duties effectively. Therefore, this survey study is aimed at identifying the level of entrepreneurship competence among lecturers of the Malaysian Teachers Institute (IPG) on the readiness of applying entrepreneurial elements. In addition, this study was also conducted to measure the role of entrepreneurial competence as a mediator in the relationship between internal entrepreneurial attitudes and the readiness of applying the entrepreneurial element of IPG lecturer. A questionnaire was administered to 220 respondents consisting of IPG lecturers of East Zone Campus to collect the data. The data were analysed using SPSS and Amos. The results of the analysis showed that the level of entrepreneurship competencies among the lecturers of IPG was moderate. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) analysis shows that entrepreneurial competence has a significant effect and acts as partial mediation between the internal entrepreneurial attitude and the willingness to apply entrepreneurship elements among lecturers of IPG. Overall, this study provides alternative answers on how entrepreneurship competencies among IPG lecturers are able to determine the readiness of applying entrepreneurial elements among themselves.Keywords: Entrepreneurship competency, entrepreneurship elements, teachers institute
